This Cambridge exam is perhaps the most popular exam in the language world. IELTS test results, which are valid for two calendar years (unlike Cambridge English main suite exams that are valid for life – FCE, CAE, CPE etc.), can be used for employment or studying abroad. For many years now, we have had IELTS preparation courses, taught by experienced tutors who themselves have also been test-takers at some point. We take pride in the fact that all our students achieve desired results at their exams.

IELTS tests language competences through the assessment of four language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking). The objective level of the test ranges from B2 to C2 (according to the CEFR scale), which means that candidates’ reading, listening and writing skills will be in line with what they could expect if they were to live or study in an English-speaking country. The language in this exam is, therefore, authentic.

There are two IELTS exam modules:

General Training

... intended for candidates who plan to immigrate to an English-speaking country for non-academic purposes or practical work.

Academic

... a module intended for those who intend to start or continue higher education in an English-speaking country or do jobs that require a university degree.

The results represent a total score on all parts of the exam (reading, listening, writing and speaking) and are shown in the so-called bands from 0 to 9, where 0 is a sign that the candidate did not even take the scheduled exam.

The exam lasts about 2 hours and 30 minutes, and it can be paper-based or computer-based. Like all Cambridge exams, the test itself is organised by the British Council and usually held at their premises.

Queen Victoria Education is a member of a “British Council Addvantage” partnership program and offers comprehensive and thorough language preparation for this exam as well as exam simulations.

We advise prospective students and candidates to take exam prep for IELTS very seriously. There are multiple factors that can affect exam preparation, which is why we recommend that you take enough time to raise your general language level, prepare for the exam with an experienced tutor, in addition to independent study, but also – do not forget the psychological preparation for the test itself!

Our language specialists have developed DIAGNOSTIC TESTING – a process that helps us assess, with great precision, the time required for a student to prepare for the exam, as well as recommend a personalized program of IELTS preparation or suggest an ideal group prep package.

If you are interested in individual preparations for IELTSyou can start whenever you want, classes are held on days/time that suit you best.
