Who are we?

We can say, without false modesty, that we are the school with one of the most dedicated and competent teaching staff in Belgrade and we would like to invite you to see it for yourself!

Our staff members and native speakers are graduates in languages who are completely devoted to their work. All are involved in continuous professional development, both in the country and abroad. They have also gained professional experience in both local and foreign language schools.

Our teachers hold some of the most valued professional certificates in the world of teaching, such as CELTA and DELTA, as well as a substantial number of national certificates, and have attended numerous hours of teacher development and training.

Some of our teachers are also interpreters and translators.

All of this is what makes us a PERFECT TEAM.

Nikoleta Psofiou Rakočević

I am an entrepreneur, leader, manager and educator, and a linguist by profession. I am an English teacher, teacher trainer, translator and interpreter for English and Serbian, and a person who enjoys being with others and sharing, who loves animals, nature and dance. I have been learning English since I was four, and I have been working in this field for more than 15 years. I am a founder of Queen Victoria Education – language, exam preparation and testing center. I invest all my energy, love and dedication in teaching – this is my passion and I am grateful for having discovered it at an early age and quite by accident, when my life took on a path towards teaching. Through teaching, we give people something that no one can ever take away from them, and we receive as much. Formal and theoretical knowledge are only a basis, and a word spoken and an experience shared, exchange of opinions and emotions are the core of every progress. Language is a key tool on the way to your goals, and it also helps different people, cultures and nations to get closer together and better understand each other. My goal is to make learning and language acquisition above all functional, and then fun and relaxing. We can do this together. I am also fluent in Spanish and French, and I plan to learn at least 3 more languages by the age of 60! I’ve worked in different countries and I’m currently studying at University of East London, MSc Business Psychology. I will never stop learning!

I believe in generosity and sharing of information, emotions and everything that I have with dear people and those in need of anything that I might have and would gladly give.

Filip Rakočević

I’m Filip. I’m an English teacher and I’ve been studying this language since I was four. One studies for as long as one lives. Try to avoid saying that someone speaks English perfectly. There is no such person as we don’t even speak our mother tongue perfectly. We can only strive to speak English fluently and try to maintain the level we’ve reached. I wish to make the learning process more comfortable, more beautiful and more interesting for my students. I try to adapt to their learning styles and show them that learning a language is one of the most fun activities in the world. By learning a language we discover the world around us, different people and cultures and ways to adapt to our environment and keep our brain occupied now and as we grow older. Language is acquired outside the classroom, anywhere and at any given moment, only if you know how to do it. My goal is to transfer these ideas to you and show you how to learn outside the classroom. Just imagine how many things are to be discovered through language learning, through texts, videos, debates, movies etc. So, learning is not something exclusively done with a book and dictionary.
Perseverance and patience are two main tools I use when solving any issues our students face. There is no such thing as a stupid question and anything can be learned. Therefore, not knowing something is not a reason to feel embarrassed which is a feeling many people who are trying to learn a language have. This is something I also went through while I was preparing to take the Cambridge Proficiency exam and going through teacher trainings and seminars. I teach people from different backgrounds and age groups, Serbian students but also foreigners who are a common sight in our language center. I am adaptable and I always try, as does our team, to use unconventional methods which will help our students learn the language faster and more easily. I like cycling, walking in nature and reading.

Sam Russell

My name is Sam, and I am a lifelong learner with interests ranging from music and cooking to mid-distance running and chess. I spent 10 years working as a network engineer and software developer, and the last year travelling and performing as a street magician while living in Germany, Poland and the USA. It always makes me happy to see people growing themselves and pushing their boundaries, and it’s a privilege to be a part of it and help to guide them on their journey. I speak Polish and German, and am slowly getting up to speed on Serbian. I spent big part of my life training teams to communicate better, and I do my best to incorporate that experience into teaching English as well.

Dušan Rajičić

Hello everyone! I am Dušan, holder of a BSc in physics and a certified personal trainer and nutritionist of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. Since my philosophy of life is similar to the ancient Athenians’, meaning giving equal importance to both mind and body and bringing them to their full, naturally given actualization, I have spent time since high school in acquiring knowledge and applying it in practice, all for the purpose of achieving these goals.

Afterwards, it made sense to pass on what I’ve learned to others and help them realize their own desires. Through tutoring of students of all ages in physics and math, as well as training people from elementary levels to professional athletes, I have gained a lot of precious experience.

It is really true that we live in a world full of challenges, diversity and beauty, in which nothing is impossible, and I’d say that you should not restrain yourself or lose confidence by listening to negative statements such as: “No, you can’t do it”, “You won’t succeed”, “That’s not for you”, etc. We know that there are several types of intelligence and that every person is different and has certain potential. It would be a grave mistake if that potential is not brought to its maximum, and that – well, everyone can do it. All that one needs is a clearly defined goal, and with help of a knowledgeable teacher, solid organization, some wisdom and patience, one should reach it. Good planning, organization and commitment lead to success.

For that reason, I am very grateful for being part of the Queen Victoria Education team, where all my colleagues are accomplished people, all having the qualities of a good teacher and a good person. By studying with us, your inner motivation will be increased, and thus your productivity at work or studies. Therefore, if your goal is productivity, efficiency, development of critical and analytical thinking, we are here to help, so that you can use your time wisely, with your energy being invested, and not wasted. Knowledge is power, but only if it is used in the right way.

Mina Suknović

I am an energetic and adventurous person; a nature lover who enjoys hiking, extreme sports and exploring diverse cultures. I am also a proud owner of one cat, a dog, 9 fish, and a stray lizard. In addition to being a translator, I am fond of languages, arts and literature, but above all, my true calling is being a teacher. From an early age, I was a kind of an eclectic, a philomath. True, I rarely stuck to one area of interest for more than a couple of years, but the love for languages and teaching persisted. I also worked in a PR department of an international fashion brand, then at a marketing agency as a copywriter, a translator for Spanish language at a local firm, but I always returned to teaching. I teach English and Serbian for foreigners. As I was looking for new challenges, and being fascinated with surrealism and modernism, the path first took me to Spain, Catalonia, where I improved Catalan language, and a couple of years later I went to Japan. I fell in love with Japan and Japanese language back in high school, and quite naturally the idea came up to travel there and teach English. The Japanese combination of traditional and modern, energized and serene, restless and patient, has shaped me in many ways, both professionally and personally. I have been a teacher at Queen Victoria Education since 2009. As much as I am a free-spirited person, I have always returned to Queen Victoria to stay because there I came across fascinating people of different interests, who truly love their job and share my teaching philosophy; people who are energetic and who contribute to a unique atmosphere at the center, which is easily picked up by our students. And our students, well, they have a manner of returning to us, hopefully not for long, as our aim is to ’drive them away’ by making ourselves redundant through extraordinary and efficient teaching that eventually raises their language level to an enviably high one! Another thing – I like diving and pottery, I play an instrument or two, and, all in all – come study with me!

Zlata Govedarica

Hi! My name is Zlata and I teach English at Queen Victoria Education. I truly believe the best way to learn is through laughter which is why having fun is unavoidable in my classes. I am a firm believer a learning process can fully be enjoyed by everyone which is why I factor it when tailoring classes for students. I consider perseverance and diligence to be key ingredients of success. So, no more excuses; today is the day to begin with everything you have been postponing.

I have been studying English since I was a young girl. However, I have discovered my love for literature later in life. In the famous duel between Jane Austin and Emilie Bronte, without hesitation I stand proud Janeite. This comes as no surprise given the fact that I have returned to Austen´s ˝Pride and Prejudice˝ numerous times. Apart from reading, I adore watching detective shows and sitcoms. In addition, I try my best to spend as much time as possible in nature, which is one of the reasons why I am invested in ecology and environmental protection. I would describe myself as a cheerful, energetic and dedicated person who never gives up in the face of a challenge.
